Follow a London-based scholar’s journey, from archive engagement/close reading of a rare letter from the chattel slavery era, to Open Access educational resource, contextualising the letter (work on this resource is currently in progress). The project is inspired by the anonymous enslaved Virginian’s written plea in 1723 to the "Lord archbishop", asking for freedom and "that our children be put to school”. This educational resource will honour that call, and “liberate” the 1723 letter
